Things I Find Chic pt.2

Navy + Black

I was on a Prada deep dive the other night, & I finally realized why I adore pairing black & navy together. There’s something so effortlessly sophisticated about this combo - subtle yet subversive. It’s about playing with depth, texture, & the unexpected harmony between them.

Raybans

Raybans are iconic. They are like a pair of Levis, 4ever timeless. Over the past decade, they have seemed to fade into the background & honestly… I overlooked them. Idk if it’s the resurgence of indie sleaze or that I’ve been seeing them on every effortlessly hot girl. I have to admit, I’ve been influenced. Ray-Bans are classic and undeniably chic.

V-necks

V-necks cycle in & out of fashion constantly, but to me they’re that girl. There’s something effortlessly chic about them. They strike the perfect balance between nerdy & sexy, preppy & undone. I also love how v-necks come in varying levels of intensity. They can be a subtle, flirty detail on a sweater that just scoops the neckline or a seductive plunging top that exudes sleek chicness. Here are a few vintage Prada v-necks, because who better to back me up than Miuccia ?

House Slipper

I mean, just look at them. I don’t think I even need to explain why these are chic, it’s like butter for your feet.

Salt & Pepper Shaker

I received these little pug salt and pepper shakers as a gift this year, and they add the perfect touch of chic charm to our dining table. They also brighten my day every time I use them.

Locket Necklace

i’ve always adored a locket necklace. There’s something so romantic & timeless about a locket. Whether it holds a tiny photo, a love note, or is empty like a secret only you know. It’s a piece that feels intimate yet understated. Over the past year, I’ve been very anti-jewelry, gravitating only toward a small signature piece. A locket doesn’t feel like just another trendy accessory - it’s personal, meaningful, & chic duh.

Tights & Stockings

Tights are hands down the chicest addition to any outfit. Technically they’re covering you up, but the sheerness -that’s what makes them sexy. Just enough to tease without trying too hard. And then there’s the magic of a ripped pair, like you just had the best night out & couldn’t care less. A little messy, a little undone, but still effortlessly chic.

Coffee Table Games

Doomscrolling has to be one of the least chic things you can do. A board game casually sprawled out on the coffee table is the perfect solution. It’s low-effort, & inviting. You don’t have to go full psycho & play alone in silence, but there’s something so therapeutic about putting on music, a background movie, or having friends over for a chic little game night.

Grandma Candies

Pulling a little grandma candy out of your purse is so chic to me. One of my favorite vintage stores in NY keeps a bowl of Andes candies, and it’s the perfect touch. Toss a few in your bag or a vintage dish by the front door for a sweet little detail.
